Permafrost Endgame: What to Do After the First Quests

Updated 2026-10-14 · Last checked 2026-10-14 · Early Access

There is no verified “endgame mode” in the October 2026 Early Access notes. The store FAQ calls the current build a story start plus a large set of side content, with new biomes, quests, NPCs, enemies, gear, and vehicles still ahead. Treating a missing endgame as a secret boss would be fiction.

This is an Early Access status guide, not a completed-save account. The activities below are optional goals drawn from documented systems; they are not proof of a final boss, a post-credits loop or a tested maximum progression tier.

What still has goals after the opening quests

Quest names already in the patches include Hopes and Dreams, High Frequency, Breaking the Radio Silence, The Way Home, and Rise Above the Cold. Beyond those, the documented activities are hunting, extending the shelter network, trading, and pushing tool tiers up to moonrock and quality metal.

Future updates are not current endgame content

The 7 October roadmap outlines four updates without delivery dates: combat animations and map additions; weapon-part crafting and side quests; sledgehammer demolition; then the White Hell biome with enemies, locations and story. Do not travel expecting White Hell or the new demolition tool merely because their names appear in file data.

Questions

Is there an endgame in Permafrost?

Not as a named mode in the sources checked on 14 October 2026. The FAQ describes a story start and side content.

What should I do after the main quests?

Push shelter repairs, higher-tier tools, colder regions, and co-op. New biomes are promised, not dated.
